They say It eats children
They say It snaps bones
They say It lurks waiting
outside of our homes

They say It’s got claws
and sharp dripping teeth
They say Its black scales
are mirrored and sleek

They say “It’s a monster!”
They say “It’s a ghost!”
They say It’s chomped dozens
(well, at least half a gross)

They say lots of things
things spooky, things scary
but you who might listen
should always beware-y

‘cause They are quite often
more frightening than It
those Theys that make rules
and those Thems that throw fits

so forget about They
and the nonsense They spit-
life’s far better fun
when you live as an It!
